"You were my first crush!" Nina Arianda gushed as she accepted her first Tony from Christopher Plummer at the 2012 Tony Awards. The rising actress, who was nominated in 2011 for Born Yesterday, was honored for her work as the mysterious Vanda in the sexy play Venus in Fur.
The excited Arianda hooted and shouted her joy as she thanked director Walter Bobbie ("You have done more for me than you'll ever know") and playwright David Ives, calling the role of Vanda "one of the strongest female parts that I've ever read."
Arianda also acknowledged her parents and leading man Hugh Dancy, calling him "an incredible partner and an incredible friend and an incredible man."
"I have a week left with Vanda," Arianda concluded, pointing out that Venus in Fur will end its Broadway run on June 17. "I will cherish every minute of it!"
