Like the rest of us, Broadway.com resident artist Justin ‘Squigs” Robertson was glued to his TV during the 2012 Tony Awards telecast, and less than 16 hours later, he had produced a detailed portrait of the eight acting winners (clockwise from top: Judy Kaye and Michael McGrath of Nice Work If You Can Get It, Judith Light of Other Desert Cities, Audra McDonald of Porgy and Bess, James Corden of One Man, Two Guvnors, Nina Arianda of Venus in Fur, Steve Kazee of Once and Christian Borle of Peter and the Starcatcher) presided over by host Neil Patrick Harris. Enjoy this salute to the 2012 Tony Awards, then get tickets to see these award-winning stars in their shows!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Click to e-mail Squigs. Photo by Matthew Murphy
