As previously speculated, famed boxer Mike Tyson will bring his one-man show Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth to Broadway. Directed by Spike Lee, the show will play six performances at the Longacre Theatre beginning July 31. The limited engagement concludes its run August 5.
Undisputed Truth chronicles many aspects of Tyson's life including his battle with drug abuse, bankruptcy, a 1992 rape conviction that resulted in a three-year prison term, his conversion to Islam and his prolific boxing career. The show first played Las Vegas' MGM Grand in April.
Tyson made a cameo as himself in the 2009 comedy hit The Hangover, as well as its 2011 sequel. Tyson has also played himself in films and TV series such as Entourage, Play It To the Bone, When Will I Be Loved and Rocky Balboa. Lee earned Oscar nominations for directing Do the Right Thing and 4 Little Girls. His many films include Inside Man, 25th Hour, He Got Game, Malcom X, Crooklyn, Bamboozled and Jungle Fever.
