Cale Krise will make his Broadway debut on June 26 as Elder Cunningham in the Tony-winning production of The Book of Mormon. Krise is the third actor to play the role on Broadway: Original star and Tony nominee Josh Gad left the production to star in NBC’s new sitcom 1600 Penn, and Jared Gertner will star alongside Gavin Creel in Mormon’s national tour.
Featuring a score and book by Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Robert Lopez, The Book of Mormon follows two mismatched Mormon missionaries as they are sent to Uganda to spread their religion. Upon arrival they learn their training may not have quite prepared them for the many challenges they are about to face.
Krise was most recently seen off-Broadway in the new musical Fat Camp. His other theatrical credits include The Full Monty, Twelfth Night, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The Book of Mormon continues to run at Broadway's Eugene O'Neill Theatre.
