The Broadway revival of Cole Porter’s classic musical Anything Goes will take its final voyage on July 8, starring Stephanie J. Block as evangelist nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Bill English as ship stowaway Billy Crocker. Broadway.com resident artist Justin ‘Squigs’ Robertson hopped aboard the seafaring ship and returned to dry land with a portrait of Block and English looking “De-Lovely” in the hit musical comedy, which also includes songs like “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “You’re the Top,” and of course, the show’s tap-tastic title number. Check out Squigs’ rendition of the long-running musical, then see Anything Goes at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Click to e-mail Squigs. Photo by Matthew Murphy
