A brand new cast is putting on their dancing shoes and heading to the Greek Islands in the hit ABBA tuner Mamma Mia! The long-running musical tells the story of Sophie, a young woman who invites three men who could be her father to her wedding—unbeknownst to her mother. Broadway.com resident artist Justin "Squigs" Robertson took a trip to the Winter Garden Theatre, and returned with a portrait of the new dancing queens and kings (clockwise, from left): Zak Resnick as Sky, Christy Altomare as Sophie, Judy McLane as Donna, Felicia Finley as Tanya, Lauren Cohn as Rosie, Daniel Cooney as Bill, Graham Rowat as Harry and Aaron Lazar as Sam. Check out Squigs’ rendition of the hit musical, then head to Broadway and dance in the aisles at Mamma Mia!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Click to e-mail Squigs. Photo by Matthew Murphy
