Rain Pryor’s one-woman show Fried Chicken and Latkes will begin performances July 21 at the Actors Temple Theater. The show is presented by Edmund Gaynes in association with Daryl Sledge/Mother’s Boy LLC.
Fried Chicken and Latkes is based on Pryor's, the daughter of famed comedian Richard Pryor, own life. The show takes a look at racism in the late '60s early '70s. Pryor completely wrote the show which will also feature her own original music and lyrics.
Pryor is best known for her role as T.J. in the hit 80’s ABC series Head of the Class and has appeared on TV in Rude Awakening, The Division and Chicago Hope. Her stage credits include playing Billie Holiday in the U.K. tour of The Billie Holiday Story and playing Ella Fitzgerald in the U.K. premiere of Ella, Meet Marilyn. Her other stage credits include Vagina Monologues, The Exonerated and The Who's Tommy.
