Erin Mackey, Jenn Colella, Tony nominee Christiane Noll and more have joined the cast of the forthcoming Broadway musical Chaplin. They join previously announced star Rob McClure in the title role. Featuring music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and a book by Curtis and Thomas Meehan, Chaplin begins performances August 21 at Broadway’s Barrymore Theatre. Directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, the production will officially open on September 10.
In addition to McClure, Chaplin will star Jim Borstelmann as Alf Reeves, Colella as Hedda Hopper, Mackey as Oona O’Neill, Michael McCormick as Sennett McGranery/Emcee, Noll as Hannah Chaplin, Zachary Unger as Young Charlie/Jackie and Wayne Alan Wilcox as Sydney Chaplin. Chaplin also features Justin Bowen, Emilee Dupre, Sara Edwards, Leslie Donna Flesner, Lisa Gajda, Timothy Hughes, Ethan Khusidman, Ian Liberto, Renée Marino, Michael Mendez, Sarah O’Gleby, Hayley Podschun, Adam Rogers, William Ryall, Eric Santagata and Emily Tyra.
Chaplin is a musical depicting the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin. From the slums of London to the heights of Hollywood, the musical reveals the man behind the legend. Chaplin explores the undeniable genius that changed the way America went to the movies.
Colella’s Broadway credits include Urban Cowboy and High Fidelity. Mackey has appeared on Broadway in Anything Goes, Wicked and Sondheim on Sondheim. Noll earned a Tony nomination for Ragtime and has appeared on Broadway in It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues and Jekyll & Hyde. Borstelmann’s Broadway credits include The Addams Family, Chicago, The Producers and Young Frankenstein. McCormick has appeared on Broadway in Elf, Curtains, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Pajama Game, Kiss Me Kate, 1776, Gypsy, Marie Christine, Kiss of the Spider Woman and La Bete. Unger is making his Broadway debut in Chaplin. Wilcox’s Broadway credits include Coram Boy, The Normal Heart and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
