Broadway vet Michael Urie is back on the small screen in Partners, which is set to premiere September 24 on CBS, according to Deadline.com. The previously announced sitcom by Will & Grace creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick also stars David Krumholtz (Numb3rs), Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill), Brandon Routh (Chuck) and Lucy Davis (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip).
The sitcom tells the story of Charlie (Krumholtz) and Louis (Urie), two old friends who are also business partners. When Charlie, who is straight, decides to propose to his girlfriend, Louis, who is gay, attempts to be a good friend. But Louis’ over-the-top efforts to be supportive to Charlie could cause his own relationship to crumble.
Urie made his Broadway debut in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. His film and TV credits include Ugly Betty, Submissions Only and The Decoy Bride. Urie’s off-Broadway credits include Angels in America and The Temperamentals.
