John Stamos is winning over audiences as presidential candidate Senator Joseph Cantwell in the Broadway revival of The Best Man. To celebrate his return to the Great White Way, Broadway.com asked readers which of Stamos’ prior roles is their favorite. Choosing from an array of Broadway and TV performances, fans narrowed down the actor’s repertoire to three choices. Check out the results below!
1. Uncle Jesse (Full House) – 55%
As Jesse Katsopolis, a.k.a. Uncle Jesse, Stamos won over a legion of fans during the eight-year run of Full House. Uncle Jesse was badass enough to ride a motorcycle and lead the band Jesse and the Rippers, but he was loving enough to move in with his widowed brother-in-law to help raise his nieces before beginning a family of his own. An avid Elvis fan, there was no doubt Uncle Jesse was the king of that full house.
2. Emcee (Cabaret) – 10%
In 2002, John Stamos wowed fans when he took over as the Emcee in Sam Mendes’ Tony-winning revival of Cabaret. This role saw a half-naked Stamos welcoming audiences into the raunchy, sexy underworld of the Kit Kat Klub. It was truly something to see!
3. Dr. Tony Gates (ER) – 9%
Stamos stepped into the hit NBC drama ER in its twelfth season as Dr. Tony Gates. His relationships with Dr. Neela Rasgotra and Sam Taggart kept audiences at the edge of their seat, and his heartbreaking storyline with his adoptive daughter Sarah struck a chord with the drama’s loyal audience. Stamos stayed on with the show until it ended in 2009.
