Oscar winner Cate Blanchett is receiving rapturous reviews for her performance as dissatisfied wife Yelena in Sydney Theater Company's production of Uncle Vanya, which has arrived in New York for an abbreviated run at New York City Center as part of the Lincoln Center Festival. The Chekhov classic has been adapted by Blanchett's husband, Andrew Upton, who joined her backstage on July 21 for a hot shot to celebrate the production's NYC bow. Featuring movie fave Hugo Weaving (The Matrix, V for Vendetta) as Blanchett's forbidden love, Astrov, Uncle Vanya plays through July 28 only. Congratulations, Cate!
