Broadway is headed for a total knock out as Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, an autobiographical solo show from the infamous boxer, begins performances at the Longacre Theatre on July 31. The show, directed by filmmaker Spike Lee, will open on August 2 run through August 12.
Undisputed Truth chronicles many aspects of Tyson's life including his battle with drug abuse, bankruptcy, a 1992 rape conviction that resulted in a three-year prison term, his conversion to Islam and his prolific boxing career. The show first played Las Vegas' MGM Grand in April.
Undisputed Truth will be Tyson’s Broadway debut, but he has quite a history of playing himself on screen. He made a cameo as himself in the 2009 comedy hit The Hangover, as well as its 2011 sequel, and has also played himself in films and TV series such as Entourage, Play It To the Bone, When Will I Be Loved and Rocky Balboa.
