Two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz is set to star as Jack in the world premiere of Theresa Rebeck’s Dead Accounts opposite previously announced cast member Katie Holmes. Directed by Jack O’Brien, Dead Accounts is scheduled to begin performances November 3 at Broadway's Music Box Theatre, with an official opening night set for November 28. Further casting will be announced shortly.
In the five-character comedy, Jack’s (Butz) unexpected return throws his family into a frenzy, and his sister Lorna (Holmes) needs answers. Is he coming home or running away? Where is his wife everyone hates? How did he get all that money? Dead Accounts tackles the issues of corporate greed, small town values, and whether or not your family will always welcome you back with no questions asked.
Butz earned Tony Awards for Catch Me If You Can and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and an additional nomination for Thou Shalt Not. His other Broadway credits include Enron, Speed-the-Plow, Is He Dead?, Wicked and Rent. His film and TV credits include Smash, Dan in Real Life, Fair Game, Higher Ground, The Deep End and West of Here. Butz is currently headlining a solo show at New York City nightclub 54 Below, with upcoming performances set for August 10 and 11.
