Complete West End casting has been announced for the world premiere of Baggage, written by John Muirhead and Mike Charlesworth. The play will feature Charlie De’ath (James), Richard Mylan (Adam), Suzanne Shaw (Geraldine), Nicola Stapleton (Sandy) and Dan Wilder. Directed by Audrey Cooke, Baggage will run at the Arts Theatre in London from September 6 through October 6, with opening night set for September 12.
Baggage is the story of two latter-day likely lads, reunited through tragedy and hoping to repair their damaged relationship before it’s too late. The show flashbacks to Primrose Hill and Lima airport in 2007, to allow the audience to enjoy their Internet dating rollercoaster.
De’ath’s stage credits include The Deafening Silence, The Cage, and his TV credits include Casualty, The Bill, The Last Detective, Down to Earth, Trust, Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married, Emmerdale and Touch of Frost. Mylan’s stage credits include Crazy Gary’s Mobile Disco and Badfinger, and he’s appeared on TV in Coupling, Grown Ups, Where The Heart Is, Belonging, Bad Girls and Doctors.
Shaw’s career was launched when she became part of the band Hear’Say on ITV’s Popstars reality competition. Her subsequent stage credits include Chicago, Funny Peculia, Summer Holiday, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and The Rocky Horror Show. In 2008, Suzanne won the reality competition Dancing On Ice. Stapleton’s theater credits include Cockroach Who, Corner Boys, Essex Girls, Four Star Hotel, Of Mice And Men and Scissor Happy. Her screen work includes EastEnders, Emmerdale and Bad Girls. Wilder has been seen on stage in Romeo & Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew, Hamlet, The Lad Aladdin, Hobson’s Choice, Sleeping Beauty, Single Spies, La Fanciulla Del West and Orphee.
Baggage will feature set design by Adam Wiltshire and lighting by Matthew Newbury.
