Performances of the new musical Chaplin, starring Rob McClure, begin August 21 at Broadway’s Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, the production officially opens on September 10. Chaplin features music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and a book by Curtis and Thomas Meehan.
Chaplin depicts the life of the comic icon Charlie Chaplin, star of City Lights, The Gold Rush, The Great Dictator, Modern Times and many more. From the slums of London to the heights of Hollywood, Chaplin is the story of the man behind the legend.
In addition to McClure, Chaplin stars Erin Mackey, Christiane Noll, Jenn Colella, Jim Borstelmann, Michael McCormick, Zachary Unger and Wayne Alan Wilcox. The cast also features Justin Bowen, Emilee Dupre, Sara Edwards, Leslie Donna Flesner, Lisa Gajda, Timothy Hughes, Ethan Khusidman, Ian Liberto, Renée Marino, Michael Mendez, Sarah O’Gleby, Hayley Podschun, Adam Rogers, William Ryall, Eric Santagata and Emily Tyra.
The Chaplin creative team includes scenic designer Beowulf Boritt, costume designers Amy Clark and the late Martin Pakledinaz, lighting designer Ken Billington, sound designers Scott Lehrer and Drew Levy and projection designer Jon Driscoll.
