Barbra Streisand's Release Me to Include Previously Unreleased Show Tunes

Release Me, a collection of 11 previously unreleased tracks from Barbra Streisand, will hit stores September 25. The album, which taps into Streisand’s private vault of recordings made since 1963, includes songs from the musicals Hallelujah, Baby!, Finian’s Rainbow, Brigadoon and The Wiz. Jay Landers served as co-producer of the project.

On her personal website, Streisand commented, “The thing I’m happiest about is that I still have great affection for all these songs. They appealed to me at the time…and still do. Listening now, I actually think to myself, ‘The girl wasn’t half bad.’”
