This fall, a slew of celebs are leaving Hollywood behind for the Great White Way. Broadway.com asked readers which Hollywood star they are most excited to see on in the coming months. The fans have spoken and a charming comedian, an Oscar nominated leading lady and a handsome Brit lead the pack. Check out the results below!
Paul Rudd (Grace) – 16%
Paul Rudd is best known for his roles in big screen comedies like Clueless, Knocked Up, Anchorman and I Love You Man, but the hilarious movie star is also an accomplished stage actor. He made his Broadway debut in 1997 in The Last Night of Ballyhoo and went on to appear in Twelfth Night, The Play What I Wrote, The Shape of Things and Three Days of Rain. Rudd is back on the boards headlining the new dark comedy Grace, now playing at the Cort Theatre.
Jessica Chastain (The Heiress) – 14%
This beautiful Juilliard graduate is making her Broadway debut as the title character in the forthcoming revival Ruth and Augustus Goetz's drama The Heiress. Chastain arrives on the Great White Way a bona fide film star, having recently nabbed an Oscar nomination for The Help. She can currently be seen in the new movie Lawless as well as the upcoming horror flick Mama. Chastain begins performances at Broadway’s Walter Kerr Theatre on October 7.
Dan Stevens (The Heiress) – 10%
Dan Stevens will co-star alongside Jessica Chastain as her handsome yet mysterious suitor in The Heiress. Stevens is making his Broadway debut as well, though he has already won hearts over on both sides of the Atlantic as the dashing Matthew Crawley in the hit U.K. series Downton Abbey.
