Alton Fitzgerald White, who stars as Mufasa in Disney’s blockbuster musical The Lion King, releases Disney My Way!, his second solo album, on October 1. The album, which is available on iTunes and Amazon, features songs from Disney’s vast catalogue including “A Whole New World,” “If I Can’t Love Her,” “Fortune Favors the Brave” and “Santa Fe.”
White originated the role of Mufasa in the first national tour and Las Vegas production of The Lion King before joining the Broadway company. He also served as a replacement playing Coalhouse Walker in the original production of Ragtime. His other credits include The Color Purple, Miss Saigon, Smokey Joe’s Café and the film The Invention of Lying. White released his first album, Ecstasis, in 2000.
The album features a 12-piece orchestra with special arrangements and orchestrations by Jim Abbott (Broadway’s Tarzan, Aida, Wicked and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown).
