Broadway vets Claybourne Elder (Bonnie & Clyde) and Wallace Smith (Godspell) are currently leading Kansas City Repertory’s edgy production of the Stephen Schwartz musical Pippin. This Tony-winning musical follows Pippin (Elder) as the prince enters adulthood and begins his search for the meaning of life. In this exciting production, helmed by the theater's artistic director Eric Rosen, Pippin and his pals are treated to a glam rock makeover —even Schwartz’s signature tunes are given an electric new sound! Pippin plays at the Kansas City Rep’s Spencer Theatre now through October 7 (though Elder fans should know Memphis alum Kyle Massey will play Pippin on September 29 and 30).
