One of the most fascinating and mysterious pop stars of the 1960s, Dusty Springfield, is the subject of the new musical Forever Dusty, which is set to begin performances on November 11 at New World Stages. We’ve got a Hot Shot portrait (by Thom Kaine) of actress Kirsten Holly Smith as the ladylike Springfield, whose soulful voice made songs like “Son of a Preacher Man,” “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me” and “The Look of Love” so memorable. Smith and Jonathan Vankin have written the script for the new show, directed by Randal Myler. Get ready for some old-school pop at Forever Dusty!
