Tony winner Stockard Channing will guest star on The Good Wife as the mother of Alicia (Julianna Margulies), according to Entertainment Weekly.
Channing will appear in at least one episode of the series, which returns to CBS for its fourth season on September 30. Channings character is described as "mercurial and influenced by her 1960s counterculture youth."
Channing won a Tony Award for Joe Egg and received additional nominations for Other Desert Cities, Pal Joey, The Lion in Winter, Four Baboons Adoring the Sun, Six Degrees of Separation and The House of Blue Leaves. Her film and TV credits include Grease, The West Wing, Pracitcal Magic and Out of Practice.
