Tony nominee Andrew Garfield will fly high once again as Peter Parker in a sequel to this summer's blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Marc Webb will again direct the project, which begins filming early next year and is aiming for a May 2, 2014 release. Garfield's real-life girlfriend Emma Stone is also in talks to return as Gwen Stacy.
Garfield received a 2012 Tony nomination for his Broadway debut performance as Biff Loman in Death of a Salesman. His film credits include The Social Network, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Never Let Me Go and Boy A. He also appeared in U.K. stage productions of Burn/Chatroom/Citizenship, Beautiful Thing, The Overwhelming, Romeo and Juliet and The Laramie Project.
