Julianne, Julia and Juliette… has a nice ring to it, no? Former Law & Order: Criminal Intent star and stage veteran Julianne Nicholson will join Julia Roberts and Juliette Lewis as a Weston sister in the upcoming film adaptation of August: Osage County, according to Deadline.com. Nicholson will play Ivy Weston in the upcoming John Wells-directed drama, which recently began filming.
Set in rural Oklahoma, August: Osage County charts the trials of the Weston family, a dysfunctional Midwestern clan that must face the hard truths that unravel when they all come together in the wake of the mysterious disappearance of the alcoholic patriarch.
The film’s cast includes Meryl Streep as matriarch Violet, Roberts as the domineering Barbara, Lewis as the youngest Weston daughter Karen, Ewan McGregor, Dermot Mulroney, Chris Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch, Abigail Breslin, Sam Shepard, Margo Martindale and Misty Upham.
Nicholson was most recently seen off-Broadway in Sam Shepard's Heartless, as well as This and Stranger. Her extensive screen credits include a leading role on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, as well as stints on Boardwalk Empire, Conviction, Ally McBeal and The Others. She has also guest starred on Covert Affairs and The Good Wife, and can be seen in the current critically acclaimed indie movie Keep the Lights On.
