Paul Rudd, Ed Asner, Michael Shannon and Kate Arrington are sparking a heated debate about the meaning of faith in Grace, a dark comedy by Craig Wright. Set in sunny Florida, Grace tells the story of Steve and Sara, a religious young couple who move south to open a chain of Gospel-themed motels. As Steve and Sara preach their beliefs, their world is turned upside down by a wounded neighbor and a cantankerous exterminator, both of whom have different opinions about religion. Directed by Dexter Bullard, the Broadway production opens officially on October 4. Broadway.com resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson headed to the Cort Theatre to watch the holy events unfold, then sketched a celestial portrait of Shannon as Sam, Arrington as Sara, Asner as Karl and Rudd as Steve. Check out Squigs’ rendering of these stage and screen stars, then see Grace on Broadway!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
