Broadway vet Ron Bohmer has joined the off-Broadway revival of The Fantasticks as the dashing narrator and bandit El Gallo. Bohmer, who replaces Jeremiah James, gave his first performance on October 8 at the Snapple Theater Center, joining a cast that includes Aaron Carter and Addi McDaniel as Luisa and Matt, respectively.
Bohmer’s Broadway credits include A Little Night Music, Ragtime, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera and The Scarlet Pimpernel. He toured in Sunset Boulevard, High School Musical, Aspects of Love and The Woman in White.
Featuring a score by Harvey Schmidt and book, lyrics and direction by Tom Jones, The Fantasticks presents a modern twist on the Romeo and Juliet story. The score includes the hits “Try to Remember,” “Soon It’s Gonna Rain” and “They Were You.”
In addition to Bohmer, Carter and McDaniel, the cast of The Fantasticks includes Bill Bateman, MacIntyre Dixon, Tom Flagg, Matt Leisy, Michael Nostrand, Dan Sharkey and Scott Willis.
