Adam Dannheisser has dropped out of the LCT3 New York premiere of Disgraced due to illness. Erik Jensen will now step in to the role of Isaac in Ayad Akhtar’s play, which begins performances at the Claire Tow Theater on October 10.
Jensen has appeared off-Broadway in The Good Negro, Spain, Y2K and Corpus Christi. He is the co-author of the plays The Exonerated and Aftermath. His screen credits include The Bronx is Burning, 30 Rock, Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Gravity and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
Disgraced stars Aasif Mandvi as Amir Kapoor, a rising Pakistani-American lawyer married to a white artist (Heidi Armbruster). The couple hosts a dinner party, where friendly conversation escalates into discussion of race, and Amir must face his own cultural roots and loss of identity. The production also features Omar Maskati and Karen Pittman.
The first LCT3 production of the season, Disgraced officially opens at Lincoln Center Theater on October 22.
