October 11 marks National Coming Out Day, celebrating brave LGBTQ individuals who have come out and decided to live their lives honestly. The day also serves to raise awareness for those whose circumstances prevent them from coming out at this time. While many people have positive coming out experiences, for others the road to acceptance isn’t always easy. For those people Broadway has a message of hope and empowerment: It Gets Better. In 2010, Broadway luminaries including Nathan Lane, Audra McDonald, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Rory O'Malley, Denis O'Hare and Cherry Jones reflected on hard times from their own youth and explained that life gets better. To honor National Coming Out Day, Broadway.com is re-posting this fabulous video created in association with Broadway Impact, Susan Blackwell, Hunter Bell and Matt Vogel. Check it out below and celebrate today by reaching out to someone who may be in need of your support and love!
