Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre's production of A Summer Day, starring Karen Allen, officially opens on October 25 at off-Broadway's Cherry Lane Theatre.
Written by Norweigan playwright Jon Fosse, A Summer Day is translated and directed by Sarah Cameron Sunde. Set simultaneously in two different time periods, the show revolves around a woman who revisits a painful afternoon, decades earlier, when her husband disappeared after taking a small boat into the bay near their isolated country house. The cast of A Summer Day also features Pamela Shaw, Samantha Soule, McCaleb Burnett, Maren Bush and Carlo Alban.
Allen appeared on Broadway in Monday After the Miracle. Her off-Broadway credits include Extremities, The Miracle Worker, The Country Girl and Speaking in Tongues. Her film and TV credits include Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Scrooged, Starman, Animal House, A Small Circle of Friends and Shoot the Moon.
