Neil Patrick Harris has some magic up his sleeve. The frequent Tony host and How I Met Your Mother star will direct the magic show Nothing to Hide at the Geffen Playhouse's Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater in Los Angeles. The show will play November 27 through January 6, 2013.
Nothing to Hide is created by and stars "sleight-of-hand artists" Derek DelGaudio and Helder Guimarães, and is written by DelGaudio. The show is billed as a unique theatrical event that abandons the notions of a traditional magic show by taking the audience on "an imaginary journey through a series of diverse and engaging vignettes, brought to life solely from the words and hands of the two masterful magicians."
Harris has been nominated for multiple Emmys and Golden Globes for his starring role as Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother. He won an Emmy for his guest starring role on Glee. He has appeared on Broadway in Proof, Cabaret and Assassins and starred as Bobby in the New York Philharmonic’s staging of Company. Harris has directed several stage productions in Los Angeles, including Rent at the Hollywood Bowl. He is also set to pen an upcoming memoir.
