A slew of Broadway stars including Tony winners Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel and Lea Salonga have signed on for the 2013 season of Lincoln Center's American Songbook concert series, according to the New York Times. This year's concerts will take place at the series' usual home at the Allen Center, as well as the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse.
Salonga will kick off the season on January 30. A special February 6 concert tribute to the music of John Kander and Fred Ebb will feature husband and wife team Jason Danieley and Marin Mazzie in addition to Chita Rivera and Joel Grey. Composers Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey will also be saluted on March 1 by Alice Ripley, Brian d'Arcy James and Menzel. Chenoweth's concert is scheduled for February 15.
Also on tap this season are Lindsay Mendez accompanied by pianist Marco Paguia (March 29) and Tony nominee Cristin Milioti (April 5). The season will also include performances from R&B singer Valerie Simpson (January 31), cabaret singer Karen Akers (February 1), rocker Bonnie "Prince" Billy (February 7), gospel singer Mavis Staples (February 14) and Rage Against the Machine frontman Tom Morello (February 16).
