The Classic Stage Company production of Ivanov has postponed its opening from November 4 to November 15. The off-Broadway theater remains without power due to Hurricane Sandy. Starring Ethan Hawke and Joely Richardson, the limited engagement will run through December 9.
Chekov's 19th-century drama explores the life of its eponymous bureaucrat, who faces personal and financial turmoil. Directed by Austin Pendleton and translated by Carol Rocamora, the play also stars Pendleton, Juliet Rylance, Glenn Fitzgerald, Annette Hunt, Stephanie Janssen, Roberta Maxwell, George Morfogen, James Patrick Nelson, Anthony Newfield, Jonathan Marc Sherman and Anne Troupe.
Ivanov features set design by Santo Loquasto, costumes by Marco Piemontese, lighting design by Keith Parham and sound design and original music by Ryan Rumery.
