Atlantic Theater Company is gearing up for its second mainstage play of the season, the world premiere of Melissa James Gibson’s What Rhymes With America. Directed by Gibson’s frequent collaborator Daniel Aukin, the cast features True Blood’s Chris Bauer, Proof’s Seana Kofoed, Ghost Tony nominee Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Cartoon Network star Aimee Carrero (Level Up). The play follows a father (Bauer) and his teenage daughter (Carrero) as his life is unraveling and hers begins to take shape. What Rhymes with America will run at Atlantic’s Linda Gross Theater from November through December 30, with an official opening set for December 12. Above, the cast (Bauer, Kofoed, Randolph and Carrero) assembled for a quick rehearsal photo (looking good, Da'Vine!). Check out the stars of What Rhymes With America, then see them live on stage in this father/daughter drama.
