Tickets are now on sale for Atlantic Theater Company’s world premiere of Melissa James Gibson's What Rhymes with America. Directed by Daniel Aukin, the play will star True Bloods’s Chris Bauer, Aimee Carrero, Tony nominee Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Seana Kofoed. What Rhymes with America will run at Atlantic’s Linda Gross Theater November 19 through December 30, with opening night set for December 12.
In What Rhymes with America, a father (Bauer) and his teenage daughter (Carrero) stand on either side of a closed door. Life is unraveling for him, and is entirely uncertain for her. So begins the new play about estrangement and the partially examined life.
What Rhymes with America features set design by Laura Jellinek, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Matt Frey and original music and sound design by Ryan Rumery.
