Signature Theatre Company's revival of David Henry Hwang’s Golden Child has extended for a second time at off-Broadway’s Pershing Square Signature Center. Directed by Leigh Silverman, the production will now run through December 16 at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre. The show was first scheduled to run through December 2, but received an initial extension through December 9.
Golden Child stars Greg Watanabe as Grandson/Eng Tieng-Bin, Jennifer Lim as Eng Luan, Second Wife, Tony nominee Julyana Soelistyo as Eng Siu-Young, First Wife, Matthew Maher as Reverend Baines, Lesley Hu as Eng Eling, Third Wife, Annie Q as Eng Ahn, Tina Chilip as Servant/Ghost and Nadia Gan as Servant/Ghost. Golden Child centers around a Chinese businessman (Watanabe), who returns to his polygamous Chinese household after three years of working abroad, setting off a dangerous power struggle. Golden Child is the exploration of a Chinese family’s difficulties to face the change of Westernization.
The production includes scenic design by Neil Patel, costume design by Anita Yavich, lighting design by Matt Frey, sound design by Darron L. West and projection design by Darrel Maloney.
