It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas on Broadway! The musical Elf begins its return engagement on November 9 at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
The holiday musical stars Jordan Gelber as the eponymous Christmas aficionado, Leslie Kritzer as his love interest Jovie and Seinfeld star Wayne Knight as Santa.
Based on the popular 2003 movie of the same name, the musical follows Buddy (Gelber), a human orphan raised by Santa Claus at the North Pole, who believes he is a Christmas elf. When Buddy learns the identity of his true parents, he sets out to New York City to find his birth father. The holiday engagement marks the show's return to Broadway after its initial run in 2010.
The musical will also feature Tony Award winner Beth Leavel (Emily), Tony Award nominee Mark Jacoby (Walter), Valerie Wright (Deb), Adam Heller (Mr. Greenway) and Michael Mandell (Store Manager). Leavel, Jacoby, Wright and Mandell are reprising the roles they originated in the 2010 production of the musical.
Elf's limited run concludes January 6, 2013.
