The new bio musical Forever Dusty begins previewss at off-Broadway’s New World Stages on November 11. Written by Kirsten Holly Smith and Jonathan Vankin, and starring Smith as music icon Dusty Springfield, the musical officially opens on November 18.
Forever Dusty tells the compelling and moving story of Springfield’s journey from awkward Catholic schoolgirl to rock legend. Directed by Randal Myler, the musical is filled with some of the '60s most recognizable pop songs including “Son of a Preacher Man,” “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me,” “The Look of Love” and many others.
In addition to Smith, Forever Dusty features former Broadway.com video blogger Christina Sajous, Coleen Sexton, Benim Foster, Sean Patrick Hopkins, Ashley Betton and Tony nominee Jonathan C. Kaplan.
The musical features set design by Wilson Chin, costume design by Nancy Palmatier, lighting design by Richard DiBella and sound design by Matt Kraus. Michael Thomas Murray serves as musical director.
