Eve Ensler's bold new play, Emotional Creature, officially opens November 12 at off-Broadway's Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
The moving new work by the Tony-winning The Vagina Monologues author explores what it is to be a girl. Through a series of original monologues, stories and songs about body image, dieting, sex, abortion and more, the play delves into the inner lives of girls across the world. The production spans different cultures and continents, focusing on the diversity and commonality of the issues girls face, both personal and political.
Directed by Jo Bonney and based on Ensler’s 2010 best-selling book, Emotional Creature's ensemble includes Ashley Bryant, Molly Carden, Emily S. Grosland, Joaquina Kalukango, Sade Namei and Olivia Oguma. The production features original music by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder, choreography by Luam, scenic and costume design by Myung Hee Cho, lighting design by Lap Chi Chu and projection design by Shawn Sagady.
