A slew of theater stars earned nominations for this year's People’s Choice Awards. The results, completely chosen by fans, will be announced at the January 9 awards ceremony on CBS.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof headliner Scarlett Johansson and Les Miserables star Anne Hathaway were both nominated for Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Face of Heroism. Johansson also picked up an addition nom with her Avengers co-star Jeremy Renner for Favorite On-Screen Chemistry.
Glee racked up five nominations for Favorite Network TV Comedy, Favorite TV Fan Following, Favorite Comedic TV Actor (Chris Colfer) and Favorite Comedic TV Actress (Lea Michele and Jane Lynch).
Broadway vets Jim Parsons, Neil Patrick Harris, Ty Burrell and Jesse Tyler Ferguson will compete for Favorite Comedic TV Actor. While Meryl Streep, Maggie Smith and Susan Sarandon were all nominated for Favorite Movie Icon.
Other nominees included If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet’s Jake Gyllenhaal, (Favorite Dramatic Movie Actor), Tony nominee Andrew Garfield (Favorite Movie Superhero) and House of Blue Leaves’ Ben Stiller (Favorite Comedic Movie Actor).
Popular TV shows led by theater actors including The New Normal, Go On, Modern Family, Homeland and Revenge were all nominated in Favorite TV series categories, as were Arrow (featuring Colin Donnell), 666 Park Avenue (starring Vanessa Williams) and the Mamie Gummer-led Emily Owens, M.D.
