As People magazine unveiled its annual Sexiest Man Alive issue, Grace star Paul Rudd, Tony winner Denzel Washington and Broadway vet Bradley Cooper were among the talented stage vets singled out for thier talents and good looks. We couldn’t help but feel a few of our favorite Broadway hunks were overlooked, however, so Broadway.com reached out to fans to find out who should rank as Broadway's Sexiest Man Alive 2012. The results are in, take a look below!
1. Ricky Martin, Evita - 78%
Before Ricky Martin was shaking his bon-bon as a sexy solo singer, he stormed the barricade as Marius in Broadway’s Les Miserables. Now, he’s leading Argentinian revolutionaries in Evita alongside Elena Roger. Martin won the Sexiest Man Alive title by a landslide, and it isn’t the first time he’s swept a Broadway.com poll—in June, fans voted Martin the Broadway dad they’d most like to hang out with!
2. Dan Stevens, The Heiress - 8%
Downton Abbey charmer Dan Stevens is brand new on the Broadway scene, but it looks like Broadway.com readers want him to stay! Stevens plays a handsome suitor with questionable motives trying to woo Jessica Chastain in The Heiress. Stevens will return as the dashing Matthew Crawley when Downton Abbey's U.S. run begins its third season in January.
3. Andy Karl, The Mystery of Edwin Drood - 2%
It’s all in the eyebrows! From Saturday Night Fever to Legally Blonde, Broadway vet Andy Karl has proved his hunkaliciousness plenty of times before, and now he’s taking on a sexy new look (complete with a pencil-thin moustache, slick black hair and eyebrows with a life of their own) in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. As the mysterious Neville Landless, Karl is one of several potential murderers in the "whodunnit" musical, and if theatergoers charge him with the crime, he makes for one hot bad guy!
