Two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone and three-time Oscar nominee Debra Winger star in the world premiere of David Mamet’s thought-provoking prison drama The Anarchist. Broadway.com resident artist Justin "Squigs" Robertson traveled behind bars to the Golden Theatre to take in the twists and turns of this two-hander. In the vivid portrait above, Squigs captures LuPone as the incarcerated anarchist Cathy and Winger as her inscrutable parole board liaison, Ann. See how these two powerful women duke it out verbally in The Anarchist, through December 16 only.
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
