Evita star Ricky Martin will mentor aspiring performers on the second season of the Australian edition of The Voice, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Martin, who exits Broadway’s Evita on January 26, will replace current Voice judge Keith Urban, who is departing the series in order to judge the upcoming season of American Idol. Martin will serve as a judge for the show's 2013 season alongside musicians Seal, Joel Madden and Delta Goodrem.
Martin is best known for 1990s pop music hits like “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” “She Bangs,” and “La Copa de la Vida.” His TV credits include a recent guest spot on Glee, The Love Boat and a two-year stint on soap opera General Hospital. He also has a development deal in the works. In 1996, he played Marius in Les Miserables on Broadway, and earlier this year returned to the stage to headline the first Broadway revival of Evita as Che.
