David Mamet’s world premiere production of The Anarchist opens at Broadway’s Golden Theatre on December 2. The two-hander stars Tony winner Patti LuPone and Oscar nominee Debra Winger. The limited engagement will run through February 17, 2013.
Directed by Mamet, The Anarchist is set in a women’s prison, and play follows a formerly radical inmate of 35 years (LuPone) who is seeking parole. Winger plays the no-nonsense parole advisor who must determine whether LuPone’s character has been adequately and truly rehabilitated.
The Anarchist features set and costume design by Patrizia Von Brandenstein and lighting design by Jeff Croiter.
