David Mamet's new Broadway drama The Anarchist will play its final performance on December 16 at the Golden Theatre. Starring Patti LuPone and Debra Winger, the production will have played 23 preview and 17 regular performances at the time of closing.
Mamet directed the world premiere of his own work. Set in a women’s prison, the play follows a formerly radical inmate of 35 years (LuPone) who is seeking parole. Winger plays the parole advisor who intends to deny the prisoner her freedom.
The Anarchist features set and costume design by Patrizia Von Brandenstein and lighting design by Jeff Croiter.
