The chameleonic Helena Bonham Carter will be honored for her extensive film resume when the veteran actress receives the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film at the London Critics Circle's 33rd annual awards ceremony on January 20 in London, reports Deadline.com.
Bonham Carter will of course splash onto the screen in Tom Hooper’s Les Misérables this Christmas. She also earned critical acclaim for her role as Miss Havisham in the recent U.K. film adaptation of Great Expectations. Bonham Carter’s hefty film credits include Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland, The King’s Speech, Fight Club, Big Fish, Planet of the Apes, the Harry Potter franchise and the upcoming films The Lone Ranger and The Young and Prodigious Spivet.
The London Critics Circle will announce its own round of nominations for its annual film awards on December 18. Past honorees of the Dilys Powell Award include Julie Walters, Judi Dench, Quentin Tarantino and Richard Attenborough.
