Rosie O’Donnell has always been a supporter of Broadway, and now the daytime TV veteran (and Broadway alum herself) will sing her theater praises again when she pops up in a guest appearance on NBC’s musical dramedy Smash.
O’Donnell herself posted the news on Twitter on December 13, announcing that she would be shooting a cameo for the second season of the Golden Globe-nominated show. Details are quiet about what character O’Donnell will be playing, but our first instinct is that she needs no character! We think she’ll play herself, but of course, viewers won't find out until Smash returns this winter.
O’Donnell will join an increasingly incredible line-up of guest stars on Smash’s sophomore season, including Rent alums Jesse L. Martin and Daphne Rubin-Vega, Broadway legends Bernadette Peters and Liza Minnelli and new cast members Jeremy Jordan, Andy Mientus, Krysta Rodriguez and Jennifer Hudson.
