Oscar winner Holly Hunter has dropped out of Hamish Linklater’s world premiere play The Vandal, which she was set to lead at Off-Broadway's Flea Theater, due to scheduling conflicts. Broadway alum Deirdre O’Connell (Magic/Bird) will replace Hunter, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Vandal tells the story of a woman who meets a boy at a bus stop. The show also stars Zach Grenier (The Good Wife) and Noah Robbins (The Twenty-Seventh Man). The Flea held a reading of the play in April, featuring Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman and Robbins.
Jim Simpson will direct the production, which begins performances on January 18, with an official opening night set for January 31.
