Eddie Redmayne’s career is about to take off into outer space. The English actor, who will earn the hearts of audiences everywhere as Marius in Les Misérables, is in talks to co-star in Jupiter Ascending, a new sci-fi film from The Matrix creators Andy and Lana Wachowski.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Redmayne is being eyed to play an unidentified role opposite Channing Tatum (playing a man named Django Wise) and Mila Kunis (playing a Russian immigrant named Jupiter). The Wachowskis, who will write, direct and produce, are looking to begin production in early 2013.
Redmayne’s career is certainly hitting a high these days. The actor’s sole Broadway credit—2010’s Red—earned him a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play. He has also appeared on the London stage in Richard II. His screen credits include My Week with Marilyn, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Powder Blue, Hick, The Other Boleyn Girl and The Good Shepherd.
