It’s time to wave goodbye to 2012, a year filled with cheerleaders, paperboys, porn stars and Patti. Before the big ball drops in Times Square, Broadway.com decided to poll your favorite Broadway stars to get their take on the high point of the year we’re leaving behind—and what they’re hoping is in store for the year ahead! Find out what the stars had to say about their resolutions for 2013.
JEREMY SHAMOS (James Lingk in Glengarry Glen Ross)
Highlight of 2012: “Beginning the year doing Clybourne Park at the Mark Taper Forum and then on Broadway with the whole original team and winning the Tony Award for Best Play. Loving my wife and children more without knowing that was possible. Finishing the year working with Daniel Sullivan and the amazing cast of Glengarry Glen Ross. Also, curbing my use of the phrase ‘darn tootin'.’”
Resolution for 2013: “Getting out of my own way more. Both mentally (less negativity, less giving in to fear, etc.) and physically (less opening doors with the wrong hand and walking into and hyperextending my elbow, less tripping on my own shin when I do the grapevine, etc). Also, I want to use the interjection ‘tarnation!’ more.”
