ANDILE GUMBI (Simba in The Lion King)
Highlight of 2012: “This has been a wonderful year for me. Not only did I get to perform for and meet her Majesty, the Queen of England, but I got to make my Broadway debut with The Lion King. As we all know, Broadway is the Mount Everest of the theater industry. Now I have reached the top of the mountain. It is my greatest achievement so far, and I am very proud of myself.”
Resolution for 2013: “As I've only been here for three months, my New Year's resolution is to get to know the city of New York as much as I can. It is an amazing city, one of the best in the world. Also, continue trying to network as much as I can with agents, directors, everybody and anybody who can have a positive contribution to my career. Also I am applying for a green card; that's another thing I'm working hard on.”
