SNL Star Cheri Oteri Extends Her Stay in Off-Broadway's NEWSical

Saturday Night Live alum Cheri Oteri will extend her run in the off-Broadway revue NEWSical the Musical for an addition two weeks. Oteri will now play her final performance on January 13, 2013. The Emmy-nominated comic actress was initially scheduled to end her engagement on December 30.

NEWSical the Musical is the always changing, completely unsanitized musical mockery of all the news that’s fit to spoof. From Bloomberg’s sign language interpreter to Honey Boo Boo Child to the aftermath of the 2012 Presidential Election, NEWSical the Musical sets all of today’s biggest pop culture headlines to song.

Cheri Oteri starred on Saturday Night Live from 1995 – 2000. After departing the show, she appeared on screen in the films Scary Movie, When Harry Met Lloyd and Shrek the Third. Her TV credits include The New Normal, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Strangers with Candy and Just Shoot Me (for which she received an Emmy nomination).

In addition to O’Teri, the cast of off-Broadway’s NEWSical features Christine Pedi, Michael West, Tommy Walker, Susan Mosher, Emily McNamara and Ryan Knowles.
